Crow’s feet are the little wrinkles that extend from the outside corners of your eyes. Visible when squinting, smiling, and making various facial movements, crow’s feet can instantaneously make a face look more aged, weathered, and worn.
Crow’s feet do not respond well to most surgical procedures, making non-surgical options the best bet for this common concern. Some of the safest and most effective options include:
- BOTOX® Cosmetic. An injectable treatment that helps relax muscles to soften fine lines and deep wrinkles
- Laser Skin Resurfacing. Laser ablation of upper layers of the dermis to stimulate collagen production
- Chemical Peel. Chemical removal of upper layers of the dermis to stimulate collagen production
In some cases, crow’s feet are dynamic wrinkles, meaning they appear with facial movement. Some crow’s feet, however, are static and will be visible even when the face is at rest. In these cases, a dermal filler, such as JUVÉDERM® or Radiesse® might be useful. Blepharoplasty may help to smooth static crow’s feet as well.
The best way to learn which options will meet your specific needs is through a consultation at the Nashua or North Andover office of Dr. George Chatson.
Enhancing the Eyes
A handful of non-surgical options can be used to erase or soften crow’s feet. These options can work well in combination with blepharoplasty for complete rejuvenation of the eyes.
Blepharoplasty, more commonly known as an eyelid lift, is used to improve the appearance of the skin around the eyes. While it cannot always smooth crow’s feet, eyelid surgery can:
- Lift Sagging Eyelids
- Remove Wrinkles from the Lids
- Eliminate Dark and Puffy Skin
Blepharoplasty can help to restore a more youthful, alert, and attentive look to the eyes. It can also help to improve vision in people with upper lid ptosis. During your initial consultation, Dr. Chatson will carefully evaluate your areas of concern to help you determine if an eyelid lift could assist in reaching your goals.
