Body Lift after Weight Loss Surgery

After bariatric surgery, loose, hanging skin can appear in many areas of the body. The thighs, abdomen and buttocks can sag downward, as well as the upper arms, face, neck and chest. Drooping skin is often the result of bariatric surgery because though the fat has been greatly reduced, the stretched, excess skin remains. With a lower body lift or thigh lift, this excess skin is removed.

If you have sagging skin of the inner or outer thighs, or both, then a thigh lift or lower body lift may be right for you. The best way to find out is to consult an experienced plastic surgeon. For most bariatric surgery patients, lifts are necessary to remove sagging skin. If you are instead unhappy with small deposits of fat somewhere on your body, Smartlipo™ liposuction may be a better option than a thigh or body lift.

Body lift surgery has enabled many people to get the aesthetic results they want after weight loss surgery by combining the health benefits of weight loss with the aesthetic reward of body contouring.

If you are interested in a body lift in the Manchester, New Hampshire area, please contact George P. Chatson, M.D., to schedule a consultation.
