Facelift surgery addresses skin laxity, sagging tissue, and similar consequences of gravity and aging. The type of facelift that is best for your specific needs depends entirely on how those factors – along with genetics and lifestyle choices – have impacted your appearance.
Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. George Chatson is pleased to offer a range of facelift options, allowing him to meet the exact needs of each patient. The best way to learn which one is right for you is through a one-on-one consultation at our Nashua, NH, or North Andover, MA office.
Facelift Techniques
Some of the most popular facelift techniques include:
- Mini-Facelift. Less invasive than a full facelift, the mini facelift, also known as a “short-scar facelift” or a “weekend facelift” is ideal for minor skin sagging and gentle lifting of the jowls and neck
- S-Lift. More detailed than a mini-facelift but less invasive than a full facelift, the S-Lift can be used to correct more pronounced skin laxity and sagging tissue along the jawline and neck
- Mid-Facelift. This technique improves the appearance of the cheeks by repositioning fat pads and tightening loose skin
- Full Facelift. The most traditional facelift technique is the full facelift. Able to correct moderate to severe skin laxity and sagging tissue/muscles, this procedure addresses the entire mid and lower face – from cheeks to neck – to produce the most dramatic results
Facelift surgery, in all its forms, can help to improve the contours of parts of the face, but will not improve the area around the eyes or address the forehead. For these, it is common to combine a facelift with blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and a forehead lift, enabling the full rejuvenation of the face. During your time in our care, Dr. Chatson can discuss these options as appropriate to help ensure you are provided details on all potentially useful procedures.
