October 15th is Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day

October 15th is Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, an event started in 2011 that has now spread to over 30 countries. The purpose of Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day (BRA Day) is to “promote education, awareness and access for women who may wish to consider post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.”

Board-certified Andover plastic surgeon Dr. George Chatson supports BRA Day and all that it sets out to accomplish. Understanding the importance of making all forms of breast reconstruction accessible to cancer survivors, Dr. Chatson offers a range of reconstruction techniques and will work with both you and your oncologist to determine which option is best for your specific needs.

Understanding Your Rights

By act of Congress, all insurance providers are required to pay for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. However, each company may place different restrictions on which techniques are covered. We will discuss both insurance and financing options in full during your breast reconstruction consultation.

Dr. Chatson is dedicated to helping women recover following mastectomy and lumpectomy. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about your options, please contact George P. Chatson, MD to schedule your initial consultation today.

Breast reconstruction consultations can also be scheduled by calling our Andover, Massachusetts office at 978-687-1151 or our Nashua, New Hampshire office at 603-882-2103 .
