SAFELipo is among the most advanced liposuction techniques available today. Designed specifically to reduce trauma while simultaneously enhancing results, SAFELipo is able to produce a smooth, ideally contoured appearance to nearly any area of the body.
The SAFELipo procedure has three steps:
- An exclusive basket cannula is used to gently remove stubborn fat deposits from surrounding tissue
- Fat is mechanically broken-up, allowing for easy removal without intense suction
- Fat shifting and grafting are performed to produce natural-looking, ideally sculpted contours
Mechanical emulsification of fatty tissue, also known as Power Assisted Liposuction or PAL, is used throughout the SAFELipo procedure. However, the level of power needed is greatly reduced due to the separation of fat from surrounding tissues prior to its removal. This helps protect blood vessels, muscles, and nerves and can greatly reduce recovery time.
How Soon Can I Driver After SAFELipo?
It is not safe to drive yourself home after SAFELipo, though most people are able to resume the activity within just a few days.
While less invasive than other forms of liposuction, SAFELipo is still a surgical procedure. You should plan on arranging a ride to and from your SAFELipo procedure to help ensure maximum comfort. You should also arrange for help from a trusted adult for your first few days at home. Giving yourself time to rest is essential for both your comfort and final results.
Following SAFELipo, you may experience some discomfort, swelling, bruising, and exhaustion. Most people report feeling “back to normal” within three to seven days, but it may take longer for you to be able to resume all normal activities. During your follow-up visits. Dr. Chatson will assess your progress to help you determine when it is safe to engage in more demanding tasks.
