Are There Risks with Ear Surgery?
Ear surgery is considered a safe procedure and is a wonderful way to restore balance to the head. However, it is a surgical procedure and, as such, comes with typical risks such as bleeding and infection. These risks are minimized by closely following all of Dr. Chatson’s pre and postoperative instructions.
Additional risks of ear surgery include residual asymmetry and recurrence of previous ear shape. These risks are rare, made more so by working with a board-certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Chatson, but should be considered prior to committing to the procedure.
Dr. Chatson is a compassionate plastic surgeon who cares deeply about the safety and comfort of our patients. He will discuss risks and ways to reduce them during your initial ear surgery consultation.
