BOTOX® Cosmetic Receives FDA Approval for Treatment of Crow’s Feet Facial Lines

Effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles of the face, BOTOX is the most popular nonsurgical cosmetic procedure in the United States. BOTOX is also the first drug to receive approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to improve the appearance of crow’s feet, which are the lines and wrinkles that develop with age along the sides of the eyes.

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. George P. Chatson is pleased to offer BOTOX and other facial rejuvenation treatments. To learn if BOTOX or other skin restoration treatment is right for you, please contact our Andover, Massachusetts, office at 978-687-1151 or our Nashua, New Hampshire, office at 603-882-2103 and arrange your personal consultation.

BOTOX was approved by the FDA in 2002 for the treatment of glabellar lines, or frown lines; these are the wrinkles that commonly develop between the eyebrows as we grow older. BOTOX also has FDA approval for the treatment of certain medical conditions, including migraines and blepharospasm (spasms of the eyelids).

Crow’s feet and frown lines are among the most common signs of premature facial aging, and they are problem areas for which many patients are seeking safe and effectual treatment. According to the FDA news release regarding BOTOX and crow’s feet treatment, both crow’s feet and frown lines may be treated in the same session.

BOTOX works by inhibiting the contraction of muscles in the affected area, thus reducing the prominence of lines and wrinkles. Dr. Chatson can help you determine if BOTOX is the best option for your unique condition and cosmetic goals.

If you live in the greater Andover, Massachusetts, or Nashua, New Hampshire, areas and would like to learn if BOTOX is right for you, please contact George P. Chatson, M.D., Cosmetic Surgery of the Face & Body to schedule your consultation with Dr. Chatson.
