Will Breast Lift Change my Cup Size?

Breast lift surgery addresses ptosis (sagging) of breast tissue caused by aging, genetics, and factors such as pregnancy and weight fluctuations. During the breast lift procedure, board-certified Salem plastic surgeon Dr. George Chatson will remove loose and sagging skin – a procedural step that may ultimately impact cup size. How much will lifting tissue and removing excess skin decrease breast volume? That depends on the individual. But a recent study suggests that most women experience a decrease in one cup size following this procedure.

Breast Lift with Implants

If a loss of breast volume is of concern in your case, Dr. Chatson would be happy to discuss the option of combining breast lift with breast implants. When this is done, implants are used to restore volume and improve the overall profile of the upper body. Combining procedures is not necessary in every case, but can be of benefit to women who may lose symmetry when volume is decreased. During your initial consultation at our Andover, Massachusetts or Nashua, New Hampshire office, Dr. Chatson will evaluate your needs to help you determine if a combination of procedures is the best solution.

If you are considering breast lift surgery in or around Salem, please contact George P. Chatson, MD today. We welcome women living throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts at our two conveniently located offices.
