Love handles is the name given to those stubborn deposits of fat around the hips, lower back, and abdomen. A result of fat accumulation, love handles can make the midsection look uneven or bulky. They can interfere with clothing options, make certain types of activities uncomfortable, and result in emotional dissatisfaction with the body.

A casual glance around any public area can show that a softer midsection is fairly common in men, particularly with age. Of course, there is nothing inherently wrong with a bit of bulge around the belly and, if it doesn’t bother you, there may seem to be no reason to address it. No reason, that is, except avoiding a premature death.

Liposuction removes fat deposits that may prove unresponsive to diet and exercise. Once this fat is removed, it cannot grow back, which makes liposuction “permanent.”

Recently, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) released the statistics they collected from 2016 regarding the number and types of procedures performed during the last year. It is not surprising that breast augmentation is still the most popular procedure. Last year 290,467 breast augmentations were performed.
